The first Biewer Terrier was a Yorkshire Terrier with a recessive piebald gene that resulted in a black, tan and white coat puppy. Other acceptable color combinations now include blue, tan and white, and chocolate, tan and white

They were first bred in Germany in 1984 by Gerturde Biewer and introduced to the public in 1986 as the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pon.

Height:  7-11 in (22.9cm).
Weight: 4 – 8 lbs (1.3 – 3.1 kg).
Coat Type: Glossy coat. Long, straight, flowing and silky.
Color: Most popular combination is black, tan and white. Also, blue, tan and white, and chocolate, tan and white.
Temperament: Friendly, Childlike, Playful, Energetic
Life Span: 12-15 years.

Health Problems: Legg Calvé Perthes, tracheal collapse, water on the brain, luxating patellas, liver, spine and eye problems.
